Make any necessary wall or ceiling repairs prior to applying texture.
Ceiling stains should be sealed with a white, oil-based primer. Cover surrounding area to protect from overspray. Eye protection is recommended.
- Mix texture material:
Wall Texture Repair: Empty 1 bottle of water filled to the mark 1½ times into a separate container. Gradually add 1 bag of Wall Texture and stir until mixed.
Popcorn Ceiling Texture Repair: Empty 1 bottle of water filled to the mark into a separate container. Gradually add 1 bag of Ceiling Texture and stir until mixed.
- Carefully pour mixed texture into bottle. Any leftover texture can be used for refill.
- Screw bottle onto applicator. Rotate applicator to the OFF position.
- Hold pump/texture bottle firmly and cut off bottle tip at groove with a utility knife. Now puncture a small hole in the red bottle cap where indicated.
- You are now ready to spray!
Wall Texture Repair: Select pattern by rotating applicator to desired position. Test spray pattern on cardboard or scrap drywall. Stand 1-2 feet from surface, pump to apply texture using short rapid strokes. Rotate applicator to OFF position when not spraying to prevent dripping.
Orange Peel Textures: Use the FINE or MEDIUM setting.
Knockdown Texture: Use the HEAVY setting.
After applying Orange Peel Heavy, allow material to begin to set up (5-10 min.), then use the plastic mud knife, flatten or lightly “knockdown” the texture to match the surrounding area.
Popcorn Ceiling Texture Repair: Point nozzle upright to ceiling and rotate pump to HEAVY setting. Hold pump at a 40° angle, and approx. 6-12" from ceiling. Pump using short rapid strokes. Rotate applicator to OFF position when not spraying to prevent dripping.
If desired texture pattern is not achieved, texture can be scraped off while still wet and reapplied.
CLEAN UP: Using warm water clean-up any over spray and tools.
TROUBLESHOOTING: If the material does not spray out, make sure nozzle is clear. Shake to free material. A very small amount of water may be added. If the material drips from the nozzle, close nozzle by rotating to the OFF position.
CAUTION! Wall Texture Contains: Calcium Carbonate, Talc, Silica, and Kaolin. Ceiling Texture Contains: Limestone, Kaolin, Attapulgite, Perlite, and Silica. Use with adequate ventilation during mixing and spray application. Do not breathe dust or spray mist. Avoid contact with eyes and prolonged contact with skin. Wear safety glasses or goggles and gloves.
If properly used, a respirator may offer additional protection. Follow respirator anufacturer’s directions for proper use. Wash hands after using.
FIRST AID: If inhaled, move to fresh air and get medical attention. In case of eye contact, immediately flush eyes with water for 15 minutes. Seek medical attention if irritation persists. If on skin, wash thoroughly with soap and water.
KEEP OUT OF THE REACH OF CHILDREN.
