Tough As Tile Epoxy Finish, Brush On, White 3 5 26 26
Rough surface Surface is very rough texture after spraying ?Prepped surface well and thought I followed directions to a T but can out very rough and not glossy February 21, 2015
Sink still unusable after 3 weeks Several weeks ago I used theTough As Tile Epoxy Finish, Brush On, White product on my guest bathroom vanity/sink. I prepped, applied the product, and timed the coats extremely meticulously. I did not use that bathroom nor install the sink hardware for about 10 days. It looked amazing--at first. When I finally went to install the new sink hardware, I noticed that even the weight of the box left indentations in the epoxy! I waited an additional week before attempting to set up my decor. Everything that was placed on the counter (an unlit candle, a small empty vase, soap dish) marked up the counter.I have no idea what to do to make this harden, after over 3 weeks. So I sent an email to homax@homaxproducts.comI will update review and rating if/when I receive a response from support. February 1, 2015
Does not harden I am a very accomplished wood worker, finisher and do it yourselfer but I too was disappointed in this product. I have used two part epoxy finishes in the past that acheived an extremely hard finish. I used the Homax one can brush on finish and followed the directions precisely. After two weeks the bottom of the tub still will show foot prints. It is much too soft! I am going to have a professional come and strip the finish and refinish the tub. Is there a product you recommend for removing this finish? January 21, 2015
Excellent product Trust us when we say we did our homework when it came to deciding whether to paint our blue tub and shower combo or replace the entire unit. We decided to try the brush-on paint... what else did we have to lose, we were going to have to replace it anyways so why not at least try to paint it first and save ourselves some money. Are we glad we did because it looks terrific!! We are so proud of the final outcome that we sent our friends pictures of before and after shots and they can not believe it's the same tub and shower. We are not ones to write reviews so for me to take the time to sit down and write this one means something. You MUST follow all directions, and be Patient! January 2, 2015
expect less than promised I thought this would be the answer to an old tub that needed attention. I followed the directions included with the kit. The promise of "self-leveling" didn't meet my expectations, but I thought I was being picky. After three days, I checked online to see if there were options. I added a space heater as "insurance" and waited another week (10 day total) for complete curing. I finally took a shower and noticed foot marks (indentations) left from the few minutes I stood in the tub. The product leaves a glossy finish that is uneven and doesn't dry completely. Don't waste your money on time. December 26, 2014
Wow what a difference This stuff might smell but Wow what a difference afterwards. I might add that the instructions were easy to understand and the application with a brush was easy; however, I used a longer handled 2 inch brush rather than the short handled brush that came with the package. My friends can't believe it's the same bathtub. October 26, 2014
Worked beyond our expectations We are putting our house on the market and we had a discolored bathtub. We followed the directions to the "T" and were pleasantly surprised by the effectiveness of this product. It dries to a hard shine and performed beyond our expectations. September 29, 2014
definitely not for sink...wish i'd read other reviews ahead of time this is definitely not for a kitchen sink. i followed all directions, waited MORE than 96 hrs before even putting a drop of water in the sink. It looked terrific...I was so impressed, until we washed dishes and the epoxy dented and peeled. Um, a pot filled with water is much lighter than a human in a bath tub, not sure why this product would last longer in a bath tub than in the kitchen after a single use...just a soap dish left a dent and caused the surface to peel. maybe the spray on would have worked better? too late now...will likely replace the sink after all September 19, 2014
