Yacolt Valley Vineyards

Yacolt Valley Vineyards is located just west of Yacolt, Washington, and has 7 acres of Pinot Noir grapes that were 7 years old in 2003.

The original 7 acres of Pinot Noir are now mature and producing well, so Deb Ward has planted 7 more acres to Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. In 2001 Austin Robaire Winery in Woodinville, WA, made a red wine from these grapes. The wine we tasted in October 2002 had good character and depth, which is excellent from wines that are so young. In 2002 we bought 2 tons of Pinot Noir and are excited to learn the qualities of the Pinots from this new site in Clark County. The vineyard has two of the Dijon clones of Pinot Noir, numbers 114 and 115. In 2002 we blended these grapes with LaCenter Vineyards and Gravel Mine Vineyards fruit to produce our Clark County Blend. In 2003 we took all the grapes from these 7 acres, nearly 11 tons. The grapes were in excellent condition and we expect fine wine from Deb's vineyard.
