| Bottom Diffuser aeration is something every small pond owner should consider. This system includes an air compressor in a sound proof cabinet on shore and a number of diffusers that are placed on the lake bottom. The air is pumped through weighted hoses to the diffusers. As the diffuser releases this air in microscopic bubbles at the lake bottom, it creates a considerable amount of lift. One diffuser can lift up to 1,100 gallons per minute, effectively turning your pond over many times a day. This breaks down the thermal stratification, releases any gases from the sediments and keeps high levels of dissolved oxygen throughout the water column. The improvement in water quality is often stunning. |
