The second volume of The Symbol presents two enlightening essays by Oscar Ichazo. The first essay, “Commentary on Crazy Wisdom,” gives a historical perspective of this Work, answering the three fundamental questions of all great cultures. The essay then examines the origin of suffering and how it manifests and limits our individuality or ego. In addition to this aspect of the Teaching, the Commentary shows how, with the Protoanalytic theory, we are able to analyze the complete structure of the human psyche, opening a path of mystical renunciation, and further on, a purification in order to continue with the Rituals of Transformation. It is by this process that we discover the True Nature of the mind. This essay is an important Teaching for all those practicing the Crazy Wisdom Meditations and Contemplation training because it completes the process of liberation towards Supreme Enlightenment, as well as for those interested in Sudden Enlightenment.

In the second essay, “Parallels Between Platonism and Mahayana Buddhism,” the origin of the doctrine of the three realms “the One, the Mind and the Soul” is clearly established. This essay will be of enormous interest to those who are attracted to knowing the real sources of other traditions.
