After: the fireplace chimney in this early 1900's house was beyond repair, so we installed a Valor 837 direct vent gas fireplace. The vent went straight through the masonry at the back of the fireplace. The homeowner tore down the brick face, which was falling down, and we installed a new face using Travertine marble. The fireplace was transformed into a beautiful source of heat.
