Snack Foods
The Alliance Competitive Foods Guidelines were developed to help students make healthier food choices in the school environment.  The Guidelines cover foods offered outside of the reimbursable school meal program such as products sold in school vending machines, a la carte lines, snack bars, fundraisers, and school stores.

Healthier snack options adhere to the following nutritional guidelines:
  • Up to 150 calories for elementary, 180 for middle school, 200 for high school
  • Up to 35% calories from fat
  • Up to 10% calories from saturated fat
  • 0g trans fat
  • Up to 35% sugar by weight
