State of the Media Conference

November 6, 2009—8 am to 4:30 pm

How can you best leverage your advertising budget and your PR efforts in today’s media environment? Are the new social media tools right for your company or just a waste of time? Should you place print ads or move to online environments? How do you use social media to reach your audience?

CBP’s 10th annual trade symposium

Acting CBP Commissioner Jayson P. Ahern will host CBP’s 10th annual trade symposium at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC on December 8 – 10. Registration opens Thursday, October 1 for the fee of $290. All registrations must be completed on the CBP Web site and must be confirmed with payment by credit card.

The event is themed "Trade Symposium 2009 10-Year Anniversary: A Decade of Progress in Partnership" and will bring together more than 800 participants from the international trade and transportation communities, other government agencies, Congress and CBP senior management. Topics for panel discussion at the symposium include CBP’s international trade security and facilitation initiatives, Importer Security Filing (10+2), Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (C-TPAT), and the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE).

“This symposium continues to be an invaluable opportunity to collaborate with our trade partners, share accomplishments, discuss new initiatives and further our common goals of trade security and facilitation,” said Acting Commissioner Ahern.

Additional details about the event are provided on the CBP Web site and in the Federal Register.  For more information, please contact tradeevents@dhs.gov .
