Bladder 3D model

New Release! Organotypic (3D) cultures of rat urothelium.

This 3-D model is generated from the monolayer urothelial cultures described here.

As evident in the H&E stain below, this model forms a 2-3 cell layer thick epithelium, closely matching that found in vivo.

In addition, it has also been characterised and found to express a range of markers, including CK13 and Uroplakin.

A human equivalent of this 3-D model is currently under development.
