Next Generation PCR Despite the various claims of other reagents suppliers, all commercially available Taq polymerase is the same wild-type enzyme-any differences in performance are due to buffer formulation and/or enzyme concentration. There are only a limited number of DNA polymerases that have been modified to improve their performance for laboratory applications. Kapa Biosystems' next-gen PCR reagents are fundamentally different at the protein level; their engineered polymerases contain unique amino acid modifications that confer dramatic improvements to the function of the enzyme. Their protein engineering capabilities are the result of a high-throughput molecular evolution technology. This platform is being used to develop a portfolio of designer polymerases engineered specifically for applications such as qPCR, Fast PCR, high fidelity PCR, crude sample PCR, next-generation DNA sequencing, and molecular diagnostics.  KAPA2G Fast HotStart KAPA2G Fast HotStart is particularly well suited for high throughput Fast PCR, offering total reaction times 20 - 70% shorter than conventional PCR assays performed with wild-type Taq polymerase or hot start formulations thereof. In addition, KAPA2G Fast HotStart has been shown to achieve higher yields and sensitivity than competitor enzymes across a wide range of amplicon types. No specialized PCR consumables or thermocyclers are required.

KAPA Blood PCR Kits
KAPA Blood PCR Kits contain KAPA Blood DNA Polymerase, a second-generation enzyme derived through a process of molecular evolution and the first DNA polymerase engineered specifically for the amplification of DNA directly from whole blood. The enzyme is available in two optimized, easy-to-use 2x PCR mixes, which contain all components required for Whole Blood PCR, except primers and template (blood). Using KAPA Blood PCR Kits, DNA fragments may be amplified directly from reactions containing 1 - 20% (v/v) whole human blood without pretreatment of blood samples or DNA isolation, significantly reducing contamination risk, turnaround time and cost of genetic testing.
