Current workflows for mouse genotyping involve laborious and time-consuming steps including upstream DNA extraction. KAPA2G polymerases are highly robust and versatile second-generation enzyme derived through a process of molecular evolution and exhibit high performance across a range of crude sample to perform qPCR or end-point PCR. Samples can be prepared from lysates of mouse tail or ear clippings in as little as 15 minutes. Combined with the faster extension rate of KAPA2G polymerases, mouse genotyping workflows may be significantly streamlined and turnaround times reduced from over 6 hours to 1-2 hours.
