As our name identifies, VitaMedica is based on the concept of using nutritional supplements under the guidance of a medical professional.

VitaMedica was founded in 1997 by David H. Rahm, M.D., a board-certified anesthesiologist, nutritionist and medical director of The Wellness Center in Long Beach, CA.  VitaMedica is located in Southern California, a leading center for nutritional science and biomedicine.

Since 1993, Dr. Rahm has been treating a wide variety of patients at The Wellness Center in Long Beach, CA.  At The Wellness Center, we offer an integrated approach to preventive medicine, wellness, and anti-aging.  With each of his patients, Dr. Rahm teaches the importance of nutrition, stress management, exercise and supplementation.  In particular, he emphasizes the effect of a healthier lifestyle on well-being and appearance.  While performing consultations, it became apparent to Dr. Rahm that many patients sought advice regarding the selection and use of nutritional supplements.  However, he found it difficult to distinguish between different brands and to ensure product quality and efficacy.

To solve this problem, Dr. Rahm founded VitaMedica in 1997. VitaMedica was established as a company specializing in the research, formulation, and production of pharmaceutical-grade nutritional supplements.  Until recently, these products were only available through doctor’s offices.  However, due to strong patient demand, VitaMedica’s are now available directly to patients.
