So that you can better protect your privacy, TSCI™ provides this notice explaining our online information practices and the choices you can make about the way your personal information is collected and used. If you do not agree with the practices explained in this policy, do not complete the registration form or ask that your registration be cancelled.

TSCI™ uses reasonable precautions to keep user information disclosed to us secure. To prevent unauthorized access, maintain data accuracy, and ensure the appropriate use of information, we have put in place appropriate physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information we collect.
TSCI™ will disclose such information to third parties, under contract to us, as required to operate our site. We will only release this information to those firms that we believe to be responsible. However, we are not responsible for any breach of security or for any actions of any third parties who receive the information.
TSCI™ also links to a wide variety of other web sites. We are not responsible for their privacy policies or how they collect or treat information about their users.
Registration Information
Free registration is required to access TSCI™. As part of the registration process you are asked for limited personal and demographic information and are required to choose a username and password that will be used to gain access on subsequent visits. While most of the information we collect is used internally for site analysis and improvement, some of your registration data is used in compiling reports (see reporting) for the manufacturers that list on our site. However, it is important to note that TSCI™ will never disclose or associate with your site usage, any of the your personal contact information, which consists of the following:

The only circumstances under which TSCI™ will distribute your information are spelled out in the following paragraph and the subsequent sections of this policy titled Combined Registration and Reporting.
Your Personal Contact Information will be sent to manufacturers and vendors when you elect to send requests, place orders or ask for fax literature through our site. Before this information is sent, you are always prompted to verify your personal data and are given the opportunity to change your info or abort the request.
You may also change your profile at any time by logging onto TSCI™ and clicking on the "Update Registration" link in the site header.
Combined Registration
TSCI™ will form partnerships with websites we feel offer valuable services to our users. Some of these services require registration in addition to that of TSCI™. As a time saving tool, and to save our users unnecessary data entry we offer to pass your registration information to these partner sites.
You will always be told when we intend to share your registration data with another site and be given the opportunity to decline the transfer.
If you consent to the sharing of your registration information with another site, the shared information will be transferred to this site and out of the control of TSCI™. We are not responsible for their privacy policies or how they collect or treat information about their users.
Cookies
TSCI™ uses cookies to: automate log in, permit guest access, personalize the web site and record user preferences. For security reasons we allow users to accept or decline the cookie permitting automatic login during registration or any time thereafter, by updating their user profile. The other cookies will be loaded automatically unless your browser is configured to block them. Consult the documentation or help files for your web browser for instructions on setting cookie preferences. We feel that the use of cookies enhances the operation of our site, but they are not required. You will be able to use the core features of TSCI™ with cookies blocked. NOTE: Personalization features will not work without cookies and will result in your using the default settings.
Web Beacons
TSCI™ pages may contain Web beacons, sometimes called single-pixel gifs that allow TSCI™ to count users who have visited certain pages. TSCI™ may use web beacons in conjunction with: promotional e-mail messages, online (banner) advertising or newsletters in order determine the effectiveness of these vehicles. Web beacons collect only a limited set of information including the cookie, which identifies the source, pages viewed and the time of access. Web beacons are not used to access your personal information on TSCI™
Logging
TSCI™ makes extensive use of web logging to understand the usage of our services, diagnose problems and identify future enhancements to our site. In addition to logging the pages viewed, and features used, our logs will also collect referring IP addresses or domain names of site visitors. This information is used in the reporting and analysis of our website some of which will be shared with TSCI™ vendors and advertisers.
Reporting
The Thomas Publishing Company is able to offer TSCI™ for free on the Internet as a direct result of the paid support of the manufacturers who advertise on our site. As a result we provide these advertisers with reports of non-specific information on the usage of TSCI™. This reporting can be based on any of the information collected by TSCI™ and can include demographic information (Industry, Company Size, Job Function, and City) and your company name. Again, as stated in the Registration Information section of this notice, your personal information is never divulged.
E-Mail Communications Policy
By registering with TSCI™ and providing us with your e-mail address you agree to accept essential communication concerning the services and operation of TSCI™ including, but not limited to: registration confirmation, additions or deletions to our core services, notifications of product enhancements and notification of service interruption. Registered users of TSCI™ do not have the ability to "Opt Out" of these messages.
As part of the registration process, and at any time there after, you have the opportunity to decline non-essential communication from TSCI™ and third parties via e-mail by checking the appropriate boxes on the Registration / Update Registration Form.
All e-mail communications from TSCI™ or from third parties wishing to contact our users are sent by TSCI™ or a service under contract to TSCI™. At no time will we ever distribute your e-mail address to another company except as stated in the Registration Information section of this notice.

The materials on this site are provided "as is" without warranties of any kind either expressed or implied. To the fullest extent possible pursuant to the applicable law, TSCI™ and Thomas Publishing Company disclaim all warranties, expressed or implied, including, but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement or their violation of rights. TSCI™ and Thomas Publishing Company do not warrant or make any representations regarding the use, validity, accuracy, or reliability of, or the results of the use of, or otherwise respecting, the materials on this site or any sites linked to this site.
Limitations of Liability
Under no circumstances, including, but not limited to, negligence, shall TSCI™ be liable for any direct, indirect, special, incidental or consequential damages, including, but not limited to, loss of data or profit, arising out of the use, or the inability to use, the materials on this site, even if TSCI™ or a TSCI™ authorized representative has been advised of the possibility of such damages. If your use of materials from this site results in the need for servicing, repair or correction of equipment or data, you assume any costs thereof. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so the above limitations or exclusion may not apply to you. |
