2009 SSPC Products Catalog

Paints and Coatings (PAINT) standards are specifications for using certain types of generic coatings on different surfaces.
SSPC-Paint 101, Aluminum Alkyd Paint, Leafing (Type I) and Non-Leafing (Type II)

This specification covers two types of aluminum alkyd paint for steel. Both have good weathering in rural, industrial, and marine atmospheres. They are also excellent paints for interiors. These paints are not intended for use over bare steel.

These paints are suitable for exposures in Environmental Zones 1A (interior, normally dry) and 1B (exterior, normally dry) and are intended for brush or spray application over rust inhibitive priming paints, over themselves, or over other oleoresinous paints. Each paint is suitable as an intermediate or topcoat and is to be applied in accordance with SSPC PA 1, Shop, Field, and Maintenance Painting of Steel.

Two types are available under this specification. Type I covers a leafing aluminum paint intended as a finish paint and Type II covers a non-leafing aluminum paint intended as an intermediate coat to provide contrast with the Type I finish coat.
Price: $25.00

SSPC-Paint 102, Black Alkyd Paint

This specification covers a black alkyd high gloss paint for steel. It has good weathering in rural, industrial, and marine atmospheres. It is also an excellent general purpose paint for use in interior locations.

This paint is suitable for exposures in Environmental Zones IA (interior, normally dry) and 1B (exterior, normally dry) and is intended for brush or spray application over rust inhibitive priming paints, over itself, or over other oleoresinous paints. This paint is suitable as an intermediate or topcoat and is to be applied in accordance with SSPC-PA 1, Shop, Field, and Maintenance Painting of Steel.
Price: $25.00

SSPC-Paint 104, White or Tinted Alkyd Paint

This specification covers a white or tinted low gloss alkyd paint for steel. It has good weathering in rural, industrial, and marine atmospheres. It is also an excellent general purpose paint for use in interior locations.

This paint is suitable for exposures in Environmental Zones 1A (interior, normally dry) and 1B (exterior, normally dry) and is intended for brush or spray application over rust inhibitive priming paints, over itself, or over other oleoresinous paints. This paint is suitable as an intermediate or topcoat and is to be applied in accordance with SSPC-PA 1, Shop, Field, and Maintenance Painting of Steel.

Four types are available under this specification. Type I covers White Paint; Type II covers Medium to Light Gray to Tan Paint; Type III covers Light Green Paint; and Type IV covers a Dark or Forest Green Paint. The shades are variable and are to be agreed upon between the purchaser and the supplier.
Price: $25.00

SSPC-Paint 106, Black Vinyl Paint

This specification covers a ready-to-mix black vinyl chloride-acetate paint intended for use over vinyl butyral wash primer (SSPC-Paint 27) or as an intermediate or finish coat over vinyl paint. This paint is not intended for use over bare steel.

This paint is suitable for exposures in Environmental Zones 2C (fresh water immersion), 2D (salt water immersion), 3A (chemical, acidic), and 3B (chemical, neutral), and is intended primarily to be used in a system applied to blast cleaned (SSPC-SP 10) or pickled (SSPC-SP 8) steel. When used for salt water immersion, a wash primer is recommended. Because of the possibility of lifting of the undercoats, this paint is not intended to be used over types of paints which have poor solvent resistance. This paint is intended primarily for application by conventional air spray and is to be applied in accordance with SSPC-PA 1, Shop, Field, and Maintenance Painting of Steel.
Price: $25.00

SSPC-Paint 108, High-Build Thixotropic Leafing Aluminum Paint

This specification covers a high-build thixotropic leafing aluminum paint primarily intended for the topcoat in a two-coat high-build system, with a thixotropic rust inhibitive primer, or as a one-coat high-build repaint over spot priming.

This paint is suitable for exposures in Environmental Zones 1A (interior, normally dry) and 1B (exterior, normally dry) and is intended for brush or spray application over rust inhibitive priming paints, over itself, or over other oleoresinous paints. This paint is suitable as a topcoat and is to be applied in accordance with SSPC-PA 1, Shop, Field, and Maintenance Painting of Steel.
Price: $25.00

SSPC - Paint 41 Moisture-Cured Polyurethane Primer or Intermediate Coat, Micaceous, Iron Oxide Rein

This standard contains performance requirements for a moisture-cured aromatic polyurethane coating with a thermoset binder and micaceous iron oxide pigment reinforcement.
Price: $25.00
