Serena Allen learned the importance of home sewing as a young girl. Her mother was a talented seamstress who taught her daughter basic techniques. A personal friend, who also happened to be an art teacher, encouraged Serena to expand her talent for creating original designs by trying painting. Serena is mostly self-taught and enhances her skills by attending workshops.
Serena has always loved to design and create clothing. She is fascinated by the process of using basic components to create extraordinary outcomes. Her clothes are classically designed using traditional colors and shapes with embellishments of lace, smocking, and embroidery.
Serena uses acrylics to paint her art work. She enjoys landscapes and stills and greens are her favorite pallet of colors. Her paintings are realistic interpretations with impressionist techniques.
Serena’s paintings are also available at Tallulah’s, Marion. |
