Rose White Rolison was inspired to learn the art of china painting when as a young girl she observed the beautiful work that her grandmother created with paint on china. Mainly self-taught, Rose has taken classes from local artist Jeannie Lambert. Rose has been teaching china painting herself for more than twenty years and is constantly thrilled to share her gift of painting with others.
While much of Rose’s artwork is on china, she also does commission tile painting for kitchen backsplashes and floors. Using the traditional method of painting many layers between firings, Rose creates her work in her home studio. She likes bright, brilliant colors to enhance her floral compositions. Rose has seen her style change over the years, tending to fall toward the more contemporary and modern, with fewer backgrounds and bolder colors. She is looking forward to retirement so that she can increase her production and paint more.
