Patti Clark began her work with watercolors only in the recent past. Pushed by friends to explore her artistic side, she is mainly self-taught with the aid of instructional books. Patti is retired from her own drapery business, which accounts for her excellent eye for color. She has a studio in her home and stresses the importance of good, clear lighting.
Patti began her exploration into the field of watercolors by experimenting with inferior products. She soon learned that high quality materials are an integral part of producing a more professional product. Patti loves the transparency and lightness of watercolor. She strives to create original work that does not emulate photography. She loves to use yellows and reds to capture old-fashioned and rustic ideas in a modern light.
