Jody Strong Page took her high school art classes very seriously, carefully studying technique and application of color. Her love of animals inspired her to become a biology teacher where she has instilled in her students a respect for and love of the animal kingdom. After a trip to the beach in a planned community where metal and wood were colorfully used, Jody decided to create artwork that would include the animals she loved and that was weatherproof.
Jody uses aluminum flashing as the basis of her paintings. After cleaning with vinegar to remove any unwanted chemicals and residues, she paints the surface with bright and cheerful enamel paints. Her biology background pushes her toward creating animals that are anatomically correct, but she does take some artistic license with size and environmental surroundings. Jody enjoys the fun of painting and her artwork reflects her exuberance.
