This Large Jack-O-Lantern was made by potter Allen Ham of Selma, Alabama in Dallas County. He is a sixth generation potter and the youngest member of the Ham-Miller family of potters. He trained mainly in his grandfather, Hendon Miller’s shop in Brent, Alabama and was one of the primary turners at Miller Pottery after Hendon’s death. Miller family pottery history has been documented on film, in book, magazines and newspapers. The family has also demonstrated their craft in several shows including the American Folk Festival at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington, D. C., the Alabama Clay Conference, and in gallery exhibits. Enjoy this Jack-O-Lantern throughout the fall season.
