Water Softeners The Tommy wash requires less than 10 grains hardness of water. Depending on the quality of your water you will need a different size system to achieve this softness level. An undersized system can reduce water pressure below the required 70 psi constant, and can also increase cost of damage claims, and will increase chemical costs.
