Conveyor Speed Control

The Conveyor speed is controlled thru your Tommy wash controller. The hydraulic controller is an electic control therefore you are able to adjust the conveyor speed on your touch screen and in small increments. Typically the hydraulic power unit is at the end of the wash near the conveyor drive, therefore it's an effor to make speed changes. With the Tommy conveyor power unit and the Tommy controller you have the ability to set the conveyor speed to any setting using electronic control that you can even adjust from your house while watching you watching your web cameras.

If you have purchased a Tommy conveyor prior to 2008 you likely have the manual adjusted speed control. In this case go to your power unit, lift the lid, and look for the speed controller in the back right corner of the tank. This lever will adjust the speed of your conveyor. The lever has markings from 0-10 Zero being stalled and 10 being the fastest.

If you are finding that the conveyor slows down when many cars are on it you likely have the torque setting too low. Take off the cap on top the speed controller and adjust the torque set screw just as you would on your equipment speed controllers. Make sure the torque is high enough that you can load many big trucks, but being too high could cause problems as well. If the torque is to high and the conveyor we're to stall or jam up you could damage the conveyor or even blow a hydraulic line.
