Wipers to Bag

Bagging Wipers

“When and when not to bag wipers.”

“Rear wiper damage can happen to any vehicle with a rear wiper.  Anything is possible.  However, we feel that rear wiper damages are most common on certain vehicles and that by bagging the wipers of these vehicles we can reduce our wiper claims by better than 50%.  I would venture to say that we wash around 500 Pilots, Odyssey’s, or Lexus SUVs per month.  The last time a claim was filed for a bagged wiper was more than six months ago.  Most other vehicles don’t give us much trouble with rear wipers.  Claims for rear wipers can occur from time to time on other vehicles, but not often so for convenience sake for us and primarily the customer we only bag wipers that are on the list.  If we didn’t bag a car that’s on the list, it’s nearly inevitable that there will be some damage.  So, we require our employees to bag these vehicles all the time.  If a customer with any other vehicle would like a bag, it’s a nice safety precaution so we provide them with what they want.  After all, it helps us in the long run.”
