Daily Bulletin Service Daily Bulletin Description:  E-mail subscription to the Daily Bulletin during the 2008 session of the North Carolina General Assembly, from May 13, 2008, through July 4, 2008, for local, state, and federal government agencies.

The Daily Bulletin is the centerpiece of the Legislative Reporting Service (LRS) and has been published each legislative day since 1935. The Daily Bulletin contains:

  • A digest of each bill filed in the General Assembly including the bill number, short title and full title of the bill, name of the bill’s principal sponsor, the General Statutes chapters affected by the bill, and a clear and concise summary of the bill’s substantive provisions.
  • A summary of each amendment, committee substitute, and conference report adopted by the House or Senate.
  • A record of the daily action taken on the floor of the House and Senate with respect to each bill, including a list of every bill introduced and the committee to which it was referred.

The Daily Bulletin is published at the end of each legislative day. Subscribers receive the Daily Bulletin by e-mail. Subscribers to the Daily Bulletin will be able to read, search, download, and print issues of the Daily Bulletin within a few hours after the end of each day’s legislative session.

The cost of subscriptions for the 2008 session covers the period May 13 through July 4, 2008 (eight weeks). If the General Assembly remains in session after July 4, 2008, subscribers will be billed on a pro-rata basis for each additional week or fraction of a week. Click here to review a chart of weekly rates for the 2008 session.

The School of Government has no control over the length of a legislative session. Subscriptions may be cancelled at any time, and outstanding charges will be pro-rated. If the session extends beyond July 4, 2008, subscribers will receive a reminder about charges for additional weeks.
