Rebuilding Indexes
INTRODUCTION
This article will explain rebuilding indexes in WinCruise.
SUMMARY
This section is intended for the WinCruise system administrator - who manages user accounts, security, installation, data backup, and system defaults.
Rebuilding Indexes
Periodic index rebuild is recommended to help maintain your data. If you use the backup function within WinCruise, check the Auto Rebuild Indexes feature. See “Backing up data:” on page 50 on the WinCruise user’s manual. If you use a backup method external to WinCruise, you should rebuild indexes manually at least once a week.
Note: In a multi-user environment, this process must be performed at the server with WinCruise closed on all other computers. Rebuilding indexes may also resolve problems in the database. See “Troubleshooting” on page 53 of the WinCruise user’s manual. If you are rebuilding indexes due to program error, you should always back up your data first.
-
From the Start Screen (the white screen you see when you log in), choose File -> Rebuild All Indexes.
-
WinCruise will ask, “Are you sure?” Click YES to rebuild or NO to terminate the operation.
-
When finished, WinCruise will display “All Indexes Rebuild”. Click OK.
