INTRODUCTION
This article will explain how to download and update WinCruise software.
SUMMARY
You may download updates to WinCruise from the Internet as they become available, please check website for latest update information.
Downloading the Update:
1. Using your internet browser, go to www.wincruise.com/support.asp
2. Click the DOWNLOAD UPDATE link to start downloading the update file (wcpudate.exe). Your browser might give you the option to save the file or run it immediately. Save this file to your hard drive. Do not run it directly from the Internet because it will not install correctly that way. See your browser software documentation for more information.
If you are running WinCruise on a server and workstations, you normally only have to install the update on the server. Some Windows NT Workstations have failed to properly update. In this case, physically run the update file on the workstation.
Installing the Update:
1. Make sure all users and the server have closed WinCruise before installing the update.
2. From the server, double-click on the update program; the program name will end with the extension exe, for example wcpudate.exe.
3. InstallShield will guide you through the installation process. Accept all defaults, unless WinCruise was installed differently, click FINISH.
4. Double-click on the WinCruise icon. WinCruise will copy files and make changes, after the files are copied, shut down for changes to take effect. Click OK. You may now run WinCruise on this computer and, if applicable, the rest of your workstations.
5. If you are using workstations and a server, each workstation will automatically receive the update when it logs in to WinCruise.
