How to uninstall WinCruise

INTRODUCTION 

This article will detail how to uninstall WinCruise Professional Software.

 

SUMMARY

If any item below does not exist, double check for it, then proceed. If un-installing a server or stand-alone computer, ensure you have a good backup of your WinCruise data before proceeding!

 

  Remove WinCruise:

  1. From the Control Panel double click on ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS.

  2. Select WINCRUISE-> ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS. Respond YES or YES TO ALL.  

  3. If BORLAND DATA BASE ENGINE is also listed, remove it also.

  4. Close the ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS and CONTROL PANEL windows.

  Remove file folders:

  1. Using Windows Explorer click START-> EXPLORE.  Locate and delete the following Folders and their contents;

       C:\WINCRUISE

       C:\PROGRAM FILES\BORLAND

       C:\PROGRAM FILES\COMMON FILES\BORLAND SHARED

       C:\PROGRAM FILES\COREL

Respond “YES TO ALL” to any dialogs.  Drive letters may vary based on your specific installation.

 

Note: If you are running any other Corel products, do not remove the Borland and Corel related file folders, above, or the registry keys, below.

  Remove control files:

  1. Click START-> FIND (SEARCH in Windows ME, 2000, or XP) then FILES AND FOLDERS.

  2. In the Named box type “*.lck, *.net, idapi32.cfg”

  3. In the Look In box select “Local Hard Drives

  4. Click FIND NOW or SEARCH

  5. If Windows finds any of these files, delete them: (paradox.*), (pdoxusrs.*), or (idapi32.cfg)

 

  Remove registry keys:

  1. Click START -> RUN, type in “regedit”, and click OK

  2. Locate and delete the following keys in the Registry Editor

       HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Borland

       HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Corel

       HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\WinCruise

       HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Borland

       HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Corel

       HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\WinCruise

 

Note:  Exercise extreme caution so as not to inadvertently delete anything other than these keys!  If you don't see any one of these keys, double check for them, then move on to the next item.

  Close the Registry Editor and reboot the computer.
