$1,500 - 4 day course – Teusday through Friday. Classes are 9a – 5p at Cone Editions Studio in East Topsham, VT – limited to a maximum of 8 and a minimum of 4. Each attendee has their own computer workstation. The network for pinting includes many Piezography medium and large format printers with several PiezoTone and K7 ink choices. Additionally there are medium and large format EPSON printers installed with ConeColor inks. There are several scanners for attendee use, but most attendees prefer to contract the studio prior to their attendence to have Cone Editions scan their originals on the Hell 3400 drum scanner (at additional costs). There are many different papers to choose to print from Hahnemuhle, Bradford Papers, Innova Papers and others. Canon supplies a digital SLR to each attendee, or attendees may use their own cameras. This is a new concept for us. We won't teach scanning in this workshop (and we really focus on scanning). This is a pure digital capture and print workshop for black & white photographers. Now that doesn't mean we won't cover a number of great ways to convert digital color captures to grayscale! But this is a workshop in which we will teach you about using digital cameras in conjunction with black & white inkjet and focus printing on Piezography, PiezoTone, StudioPrint and iQuads products. We will spend part of one day nearby shooting so bring your camera and gear. We will focus at least a day on setting up the studio for color management so you get the benefits of learning proper calibration and profiling. But you will print and you will print a lot while learning how to make the highest quality prints from your digital camera image files. Thanks to a previous workshop attendee for this idea. We've creating a workshop especially for digital photographers who print black & white! We're looking forward to such a focused aesthetic/technical blend. If you do not have a digital camera and would like to attend, Canon USA will be supplying cameras and lenses. |
