The Piezography SplitTone™ seven dilution ink set produces a perfect monochromatic modulation of tone which transitions from Sepia shadows into Neutral highlights. (other combos available soon) The transition point is transparent and the effect is completely natural and reminiscent of fine palladium printing. The new SplitTone produces amazing depth. We find ourselves shooting just for it. Tones which are mid to dark seem to sink into the paper while the quarter tones and highlights come forward. Landscape is amazing with it. People shots are great. Just about everything benefits from it. Split toning is one of the reasons why photographers love palladium printing. However, Piezography produces much longer tone and incredible highlight and shadow detail. We believe that if you have ever wished you could produce platinum or palladium prints of your work, the new Piezography SplitTone ink set is going to satisfy your expectations. The inks are designed to be used with QuadTone RIP software ($50 shareware) which can be downloaded free from the Piezography website by clicking here. While the author of QuadTone RIP offers support for the registration fee, we have produced an entire compliment of paper profiles which are included free with your download. The system for both Mac and Windows is easy to operate by printing a grayscale image and choosing the correct paper profile from the drop down menu of QTR. Advanced users can learn to create their own profiles with QTR's built-in tools. However, the profiles which Vermont PhotoInkjet have created are made on their proprietary monochromatic ink profiling system. Custom profiles from this system are available. These kits include a set of ink cartridges. Flush cartridges are stongly recommended. |
