A natural white, smooth paper surface made from 100% rag (cotton) coated on one side with an excellent inkjet receptor coating. The paper is both acid-free and lignin-free for exceptional long life. This sheet does not use optical brightners. The weight of this sheet is 310 gsm making it a thick paper which is not "too thick" for desktop printers, but substantial enough for large format printers.

This is a high dMax paper for Piezography inks.

Very effective with ConeColor inks as well as most brands of dye and pigment inks. For use with all kinds of inkjet printers.

Type5 paper was designed to replicate all the great qualities of Museo Silver Rag paper - with the exception that Type5 is much more conducive to printing with Piezography Selenium and Piezography WarmNeutral inks in glossy mode. While we think Silver Rag is one of the most attractive papers on the market, its surface has not been very Piezography ink friendly. Type5 combines the qualities of a luxury 100% cotton paper, a traditional baryta surface, and no OBAs. Very archival - and very beautiful as a surface on which to print Piezography glossy. If you have printed on Museo Silver Rag, you know the color of Type5; a sheet that has the same slightly warm (brovira look) tone. What Type5 brings to the printmaker that is new, is a much smoother and ink receptive surface than Silver Rag. One of Cone Editions Press most exciting new ink/paper combinations is Type5 with Selenium glossy inks. Simply extraordinary as a darkroom look-alike.

We found this excellent archival inkjet paper with a great receptor coating for pigment and dye inks. Firefly paper is dual sided. It has been coated on both sides so that you can print on the front and the back with equal results. We've used it as an inexpensive "fine art" and "photo" archival inkjet paper. It's surface is actually very close to Hahnemuhle Photo Rag. But it does not contain the artificial brightening agents of that paper. While Photo Rag is 100% cotton, Firefly paper is 25% cotton and 75% acid-free alpha-cellulose pulp.

The cost of making archival inkjet papers out of 100% cotton is substantially higher than making it from 25% cotton. This paper is an excellent value, yet is similarly archival to the more expensive papers on the market. It can be considered a "student grade" paper as a result of being inexpensive. But, the printing characteristics are that of the more expensive professional grade products we sell.

Because Firefly paper does not have any added optical brighteners it is also perfect for invisible inks that require printing on a non-OBA paper.
