| Firefly Archival Proofing Papers Items: |
|
Firefly paper was developed as an archival paper that is pH neutral and without OBAs. This sheet can last through the ages as long as the premium archival papers but at a significantly lower cost. It is moderate weight at 220gsm and it is coated on both sides so that you can use it for proofing. Each sheet counts as "two". If an image does not work on side 1, turn it over and print another try on side 2.
Firefly paper holds ink very well and prints with acutance, saturation, and without bleed. This is a perfect inexpensive paper for proofing images prior to printing on a more expensive sheet such as JonCone Studio Type2. They have similar surface and color tone. Firefly paper is made of de-acidified sulphite pulp.
Because Firefly paper is OBA-free it can also be used with invisible inkjet inks. Under a blacklight, the paper itself will not glow like OBA paper. OBAs are brightening agents that cause a natural paper to appear brighter white. The brighter the paper the more the OBA the greater the glow under black light.
Some of our customers use this as their "premium" sheet. This paper has a high enough standard that it can be used as a final print. |
