ConeColor inks for EPSON 1400! (Choose matte or photo black)
|
| |
The EPSON 1400 is a little sub $300 gem in the EPSON printer line-up. EPSON developed this Claria ink printer for non-archival printing - using a simple six ink design. But they gave it the highest printer technology by giving it a 1.5 picoliter drop size so that it can do with six inks what other printers require seven or more. This is a true photo quality printer which produces what Epson calls “awe-inspiring images” that enable photographers to “realize the full potential of todays newer DSLRs.”
The only thing it is missing is archival inks. So we stepped up to the plate with a CIS system running our deep color gamut ConeColor pigment inks. You will need color management. But with a purchase of a system we will be willing to produce 2 or 3 ICC profiles for you at one go.
With only six inks you must choose a photo black inks/CIS or matte black inks/CIS. A little inconvenient if you use both. We think this printer is best suited as an archival fine art printmaking system with the matte black option. 13" wide giclée prints on fine art paper. The printer and the costs of enough inks to make more than 500 8.5x11 prints is less than the cost of an EPSON 2400 with a single set of cartridges. |
