PiezographyBW ICC was my flagship system for EPSON desktop four and six ink printers and select large format six ink printers for years. This was the first b&w system to employ an industry standard ICC profile to direct linearization and dot-less printing of monochromatic inks. The profiles are produced by a unique profiling application which we developed from the ground up. No other manufacturer has yet produced a monochromatic ink profiler that can produce both an accurate preview and direct the use of monochrome inks in a color printer. We won the 2004 DIMA Best Black&White award for this product. This system ships with unique, industry standard ICC profiles that are used for printing, and for depicting a highly realistic soft-proof on the screen when using Photoshop. The ICC profiles permit printing from any application. Profiles for most popular papers ship with each system. Alarge total of ICC profiles are included on the the CD-ROM along with a thorough user's manual.
iQuads - is in effect PiezographyBW ICC - but with the added bonus of having us custom profile your printer and choice of papers. iQuads is Piezography on steroids! It is well known that high quality ICC profiles work across the broadest range of printers. But sometimes, a user has a printer which differs slightly or moderately from the norm. iQuads can handle that situation with aplomb. Sometimes an individual user wants a profile for a paper we do not support. Others want to insure that the profiles are absolutely the best possible for their individual printer. The process involves printing out a target following our specific instructions, mailing the printed target to us for measurement. The resultant ICC profile can be e-mailed back within 24 hours!
PiezoTone Inks with StudioPrint RIP is truly a professional's system in which high rates of production, multiple image layouts, and a multitude of other RIP features are required or desired by a studio. However, the features of this RIP which were engineered for PiezoTone inks include tone blending and split-toning. It also features high-frequency printing and linearization. The linearization feature is automated with inexpensive spectrophotometers. Additionally, this RIP can handle color inks. Although engineered for pay for print studios, many of our most serious and professional photographers use this system in their home studios.
Piezography K6 /K7 has been engineered by us for more modern EPSON printers. This system cuts across the grain of modern monochromatic system trends. Competing systems divide the seven ink positions into two variations of tri-tone inks in warm and cool. Although convenient for photographers who like to experiment with a multitude of monochromatic ink colors, we decided to utilize the additional ink positions to produce our highest standard system ever! Without any doubt, six or seven true dilutions of a black ink will render tone at a much higher standard than 4 dilutions. Piezography K7 is truly the only seven dilution product on the market which uses all seven dilutions to render a monochromatic image. It does so with startling accuracy, definition, and smoothness. Its inexpensive because we have used our profiling system to render perfect curves for the Roy Harrington QuadTone RIP (a $50 shareware EPSON printer driver designed for monochromatic inks). But even with our Neutral inks, it is possible to create warm and cool hues by simply shifting the paper from cool white to warm white. And you know what else? This is the highest performance monochromatic ink ever! No need for flush carts on desktop printers. Simply switch back and forth to color inks when you need to print color!
Piezography SplitTone is a combination of Piezography K6 and K7 inks which create the most photographic split tone available. All of the great features of K6 / K7 ink sets are realized with the addition of a hue that modulates from Neutral to Sepia.
