Walker Blackwell started photography in the shifting landscape between digital and darkroom in the early nineties as a teenager. From the first digital scan to the last 4x5 contact print, he has been fascinated by all aspects of photographic printing.
He moved to Chicago in 2002 and went to Columbia College Chicago for photography. He then started a fine-art print company Black Point Editions and specialized in custom Piezotone prints for the very strong community of photographers in the city. For the last three years he's worked for many of the photographers in Chicago and beyond making custom prints on a small scale for archives and exhibitions throughout the country and the world.
Today, Walker lives at his home in Cabot, Vermont where he continues the East Coast branch of Black Point Editions and runs an organic farm with his family. His current work involves the untamed landscape and how we respond to such uncontrolled spaces.
