June 14 All day practice – didn’t make it
Fri. June 15 Practice on Friday, some experiments with tire pressure after talking to the Honda RS250 guys in garage 12 I found out that they are running about 5 psi higher then I do and they don’t record pressure hot off track, I think I’ll stick to the “Pirelli way”.
GTL : B bike 9th place From a bad grid position I got a good start and tried to make my way to the outside line of T1 only Danny came flying and beat me too the turn and into 1A, I manage to pick up two positions by T3 and about three more positions by half way, and then I rode alone until the red flag. I’m comfortable with my line and lowered my best time by 0.8 sec. lap time 1:24.089
LWGP : A bike 13th place Bad grid position has hunted me all weekend long but the start was good plus a few positions I picked up placed me in the middle of the pack, Gearing is set back to 13/44 and works good
Sat. June 16
LWSB :B bike 9th place Lap time 1:25.261 grid position – bad one
ULSB : B bike 7th place Lap time 1:25.104 grid position- very bad one
Sun. June 17 Five practice sessions and 15 min qualifying was some good seat time but very hard. By the end of the qualifying to the USGPRU 250 race I was tired!!!, qualifying time was in the 1:25th and I wasn’t happy about it but at least I was grided on the outside.
USGPRU 250 : B bike 17th place My goal for my first 250GP race was to keep up with the field and not to crash. The start was good, a lot of traffic into T1, going into T3 I was tacking the inside line together with three other bikes. an all two stroke grid this is what a GP race suppose to feel like , and then going into turns two or three bikes side by side it flows like some classic ballet, and the high pitch sound of two stroke machines just complete the perfect picture. I have gained a few positions and was riding behind Paul Conley EX481 and was looking for the pass as I was on his tail , I decided to pass on T3 (my favorite) I tried a couple times and wasn’t close enough then made the pass a little too hot and could not keep the line into T4, a couple of mistakes together with being lapped by the leaders and the fact that I was over cooked opened the gap between me and Paul so the last two laps I just rode to bring it home. And to top it all was my best time ever 1:22.864 !! Better then sex!
