Piezography Neutral K7 information page

Piezography Neutral K7 is the first 100% pure pigment neutral ink set offering the ultimate in quality and increased fidelity for fine art black and white printing. This pure pigment solution contains no dye and is not designed for glossy papers. Each of the seven inks is a perfectly neutral gray, so that the user's choice of paper can determine the "color" of the print.

Now Piezography Sepia K7 is available. Because each of the seven shades of this ink exactly match the densities of the Neutral K7 shades, it uses the same profiles we made for Neutral K7. You can also swap out positions of one Sepia for Neutral to "split-tone" and use the same profiles.

Piezography Neutral K7 is unique in offering seven dilutions for ultimate quality. The introduction of printers with seven or more channels of ink has given us the opportunity to move from four dilutions of gray to seven. While competing systems have chosen to utilize these extra channels to offer warm/cool "toners", we are using these positions to increase print-quality. All seven of the Piezography Neutral K7 inks are used when making a print, which results in a print of the highest quality. Smoother tonal transitions and a completely dotless print are the hallmarks of Piezography Neutral K7 printing.

This new carbon formulation gives unprecedented ease in start-up so that even flush cartridges are unnecessary for desktop printers. And this is the first ink we have designed which is conducive to long resting periods within the printer. This ink was designed for the new EPSON print head technologies. We made it finer in particle size, with a more precise distribution band afforded by superior filtering with a one-micron fiber type osmosis filtering system for six cycles. Our decision to filter to a very narrow spread is rooted in a commitment to quality that is reflected in the final print. We put the finished pigment in a suspension we call "slippery" so that it works through the smaller micro-channels of EPSON print heads. And finally, we were able to give it additional longevity protection. All in all this is our best ink to date.

What software is needed to get the best from these inks?

Roy Harrington's QuadTone RIP is a $50 shareware software. Compatible with both Macintosh and Windows, this innovative software allows direct printing of images. InkjetMall has created a full compliment of paper profiles for the EPSON R800/R1800, 2200, 2400, 4000, 4800, 7600, 7800, 9600 & 9800 printers. And now profiles for the EPSON R200, R220, R300, R300M, R320 printers. Our profiles are created in house with our own profiling software which has been made to be compatible with QuadTone RIP. Our profiles are as near perfect as possible. We believe these are all you need. However, QuadTone RIP allows any user with a densitometer or XiRite EyeOne spectrophotometer to create their own QuadTone curves with its built-in linearization feature! Download QTR here. Simply install our ink cartridges in your printer, dial up the Neutral K7 curve for the appropriate printer, and print! A complete list of the papers we profiled are here.

StudioPrint Professional RIP with support for Piezography inks. This is a professional Windows based RIP which offers support for these inks. The user can connect a Gretag EyeOne Design and automate the creation of "profiles" for any paper. Further, this RIP allows split-toning and ink blending with other PiezoTone inks so the photographer can blend K7 (or K6) Neutral inks into shadows of any of our PiezoTone choices. The interface is a full-fledged image layout command center. Production speed is amazing. Worth the money if you intend to print for a living, or want serious production speed for your work. And of course its also a full color ink RIP as well. For EPSON 4000, 4800, 7000,7500, 7600, 7800, 9000, 9500, 9600, 9800 and 10000 printers (also works with Roland, Mutoh and Mimaki printers).
