Brief Description: Set of Epson R1900 refillable carts filled with Carbon K7 inks. This is a TRYME special (limited time). You get a matte and glossy compatible set
The recent very strict accelerated tests (Aardenburg) of the Cone Piezography Carbon K7 shows it to be leading all the other monochrome pigment ink sets on the market today. Not only are they not showing any signs of premature fade, but they are not showing any drift in the print color either. They are the closest thing there is to a platinum-palladum print in the digital world of the pigment inkjet process. No other inkset has so many subtle light values to work with. Jon has created a wide variety of hue sets of Piezography carbon based inks, but the one that I keep coming back to, for both my clients and my personal work is the K7 100% Carbon set. It was formally known as Carbon Sepia. I believe that recently Jon realized that the designation ÒsepiaÓ was a psychologically limiting description in that these ultra-subtle warm carbon dilutions are in no way related to the bright red-yellow color that one may by habit associate with sepia toning and the like from our darkroom days, thus the updating of the name recently to simply K7 Carbon.

This is a drop dead gorgeous set of inks that gets "wow" reactions from professional photographers I've shown prints to at ICP, for example. It just has a subtle transition of the tones that works well with almost all of my street and fine art work, in particular the latter. Next going to print a Cuba portfolio with this for example, to show at a local gallery.
I've never had a problem with clogging with this ink even letting it sit for a couple of weeks unused. I also follow Jon's recommendations on using flush cartridges when I don't print for long periods as that has proven easy to do and works perfectly for restarting the printers. Now use it in a 4800 as well.
Couldn't recommend it more highly to anyone who started with silver gelatin and wants to recapture the magic look of lucious black and white prints.
A set of our refillable carts pre-charged with Piezography Carbon K7 ink. Plug them in and play. You'll need QuadTone RIP to operate these and our K7 curves. If you look at the more info for this product you will see instructions on how to do this.
While all Piezography inks have been tested and can withstand more than 100 years of prudent display life, Carbon is in a league of its own. If it is important to you to print black & white images that can outlast anything from Canon, Epson, HP, or other 3rd party ink companies - then this is the ink. Carbon is warm - and many of our customers have asked to try them before committing to quantities. So this is an inexpensive way to try a set of carts.
Piezography Carbon K7 inks are seven dilutions of pure carbon pigments which are the color of pure carbon, or what is referred to as a warm effect. The inks are subdued and not as saturated as the PiezoTone Carbon Sepia inks. Sepia inks are also susceptible to paper whites which can be used to subtly move the inks warmer of cooler Sepia depending upon the tone of the white. Again this is due to the incredibly small pigment particles. The end result is a perfect marriage of ink and paper. A perfect monotone is produced. Inks are designed to fade less than 5% and shift less than deltaE 2, both below average human perception. These are the longest lasting inks available. There is a zero metamerism effect. The pigment particles are ground using a proprietary nano-technology. The fluid base in conjunction with the pigment produces a very non-clogging formula.
This set includes both a matte and photo black and the Piezography Gloss Overprint.
