Photographer 8/2/2011 10:21 am I have been using cone ink and carts on my 4800 for 8 months. Same color as oem epson ink, very well made carts that are easy to reset. And the support from inkjetmall has been very professional, and prompt. On occasion Jon Cone has been on duty at their online help desk and took the time to reply in real time to my questions. His most recent blog on the fluid mechanics of pigment ink printers was the most reasoned explanation of the clogging issue and how to prevent it--regular printing--I have ever read. Since i buy his ink in half liter bottles for 15 cents a ml, i now have been printing 5 or 6 out of seven days and am having less clogs. I cant be more pleased, and you wont be disappointed either.
Photographer 8/2/2011 9:00 am You should choose your 3rd party ink supplier carefully. The quality of ink varies greatly. Choose based on other peoples' experiences and never based on what the seller says on a website. Over the years I have used 4 different 3rd party ink suppliers on 4 different printers, and only one of them (ConeColor) has not really needed custom profiles.
Advanced Amateur Photographer 8/2/2011 8:03 am ConeColor K3 inks work perfectly with Epson profiles just as if I was using Epson inks. The inks really do match Epson's color... just as predictable, just as consistent, same image quality. Great product!
Owner 8/2/2011 6:38 am A while back we were sold on the concept of doing our labels in-house, short runs enabled us to create new items and prototypes without spending lots of cash up front. Originally these in-house labels were more expensive than printed labels, most of that cost was in the OEM inks that we were using. Switching to ConeColor inks we were able to cut our consumable costs by about a 1/3, now our in-house labels actually cost less than getting them printed. On a pure cost analysis at the volumes I use, I could buy a new printer (epson 4880 at $2000) every 10 weeks with the money I save on ConeColor inks. After 33,000 prints my Epson 4880 runs just as good as it did when we bought it. Besides great inks they also have great customer service and great turn around times on orders. Lab Coordinator 8/1/2011 5:33 pm I use both the Photo Black and Matte Black ConeColor inksets in my department's Epson 4800 printers at University of Vermont. It works very well indeed and has saved the art department over a thousand dollars just in the last semester. We are a rather small digital lab but it makes a huge difference in our budget.
Owner - Total Camera 8/1/2011 12:49 pm We have been using your inks for a year and one half, and wanted you to know that I LOVE them. I was very skeptical, because in the past I had used another company's inks and ruined our Epson 9800. We now have the Epson 9880, and your inks are working great. When we were using the Epson inks I was having to do a power cleaning at least once or twice a week. With your inks I am only doing this once a month. What a savings in ink and money. My head clogging problem has almost disappeared with your inks. Thank you for creating a great product.
Pro Photographer 7/21/2011 5:09 am I am using the Cone inks in two Epson 9880's and a 4880 for almost six months now. They have worked flawlessy, and I am very happy with the cost savings. Resetting the chip on the carts is easy and only takes a few seconds. I have been making my own profiles even though the stock Epson profiles seem to work fine.

For less than the cost of a single Epson Ultrachrome K3 220ml cart, you can purchase 236ml (8oz) of ConeColor K3 replacement ink and a refillable (reusable) cart. Its easy to pour the ink from the bottle into the cart with the included funnel. When you run out of ink, you need only purchase another bottle of inks (only $45). You never have to throw away an empty cart again!

ConeColor 100% pure pigment color compatible inks are compatible with EPSON Ultrachrome K3 printers. These inks are designed to be used as an entire set in order to arrive at color compatibility. If you are used to printing with EPSON inks on EPSON papers, you should be able to slip ConeColor inks into your present workflow without trouble.

ConeColor inks use much of the same pigment technology as found in the Piezography K7 inks. This means that these inks utilize a proprietary pigment treatment and a very slippery vehicle to insure that the pigments do not clog in printer heads, and that startup and resting periods are no more traumatic on your EPSON printer than it would be using EPSON's own inks.

This kit includes an 8oz (236ml) bottle of ink and a refillable cart which comes with a funnel. Next time you need ink, simply buy another bottle of ink and refill the cart.

Note: Because we created a color managed set of ink which imitates Epson inks used in an Epson workflow, we needed to modify the Lt Cyan and the Magenta positions. When you substitute our Vivid K3 set into your Epson printer and print on Epson papers with the Epson driver and Epson profiles - ConeColor works!

You get a complete set of eight Refillable Carts and bottles, including funnels, gloves and priming clip. This set has the matte black ink option. A chip resetter is included.

This system is compatible with this model Epson printer and can be used to repair the printer in the case any OEM carts prematurely empty or malfunction.

ConeColor inks are compatible with Epson inks. You do not need to flush your printer if it currently has Epson inks, or if it has Piezography inks in it. You can install ConeColor inks one position at a time and allow the ink to slowly chase out the Epson ink during printing.

However, it is known that Lyson brand inks are incompatible with other brands. If your printer currently has Lyson brand inks it - you should flush the system with PiezoFlush. Do not use Lyson brand flushing carts for the same reason as Lyson incompatibilty with other brands. Use PiezoFlush ink to flush your printer of Lyson brand inks.

ConeColor is compatible with Piezography inks. ConeColor inks are compatible with the widest range of media. But, for best results you should use the Photo Black to print on non-matte papers. Likewise, matte black is the preferred option for non-glossy media.

ConeColor inks were designed to be color compatible with Epson color workflow. You can expect to get similar color on Epson media if you have been printing according to the color management directions published by Epson and have been using Epson designed media profiles. The one exception to this is when we put ConeColor K3 inks into the Epson 1400 and 2200 printers which were designed for other color space inks. We provide K3 as an alternative color space to these two printers. We support this color upgrade by making an ICC profile library available for these printers. Also, we give a K3 Vivid option to the Epson 3800 printer. If you choose to run K3 Vivid in an Epson 3800 rather than K3, that will require custom ICC profiling.

We have third party media profiles for many of our supported printers. You can access our ICC profile library here.

ConeColor is not compatible with the CIS system we sell at InkjetMall. It may be compatible with other CIS systems. However, we recommend that you use our Refillable Cartridge System with ConeColor.
