For less than the cost of a single Epson Ultrachrome K3 220ml cart, you can purchase 236ml (8oz) of ConeColor K3 replacement ink and a refillable (reusable) cart. Its easy to pour the ink from the bottle into the cart with the included funnel. When you run out of ink, you need only purchase another bottle of inks (only $45). You never have to throw away an empty cart again!
ConeColor 100% pure pigment color compatible inks are compatible with EPSON Ultrachrome K3 printers. These inks are designed to be used as an entire set in order to arrive at color compatibility. If you are used to printing with EPSON inks on EPSON papers, you should be able to slip ConeColor inks into your present workflow without trouble.
ConeColor inks use much of the same pigment technology as found in the Piezography K7 inks. This means that these inks utilize a proprietary pigment treatment and a very slippery vehicle to insure that the pigments do not clog in printer heads, and that startup and resting periods are no more traumatic on your EPSON printer than it would be using EPSON's own inks.
This kit includes an 8oz (236ml) bottle of ink and a refillable cart which comes with a funnel. Next time you need ink, simply buy another bottle if ink. When you refill the cart, you need the optional resetter to reset the chip.
If you buy a complete set of these inks and carts, we include the resetter for free.
"I'm currently using Jon Cone's color pigment inks (www.inkjetmall.com) in my 7800. I phased them in with the Epson inks using the refillable cartridges also available there. Didn't flush the system. Did this over a year ago and had zero problems with them. Their color space is the same as the Epson inks so everything worked from the git go. Results have been great on all different papers I use. One added benefit when I bought the set of inks and cartridges, it included both photo and matte black cartridges and bottles."

"A note to let you know that when it comes to ink, yours are truly the best. We switched to ConeColor ink at Wildflower Graphics over a year ago, and I haven't had to write because that integration has been without a hitch.
The fact that we don't throw the carts away after every use has helped us to achieve a reduction in our waste stream. The price of ink is not the limiting factor it once was allowing use to switch our toner based prints to inkjet, with higher quality and lower cost. Our sales are up in this down economy, in part I 'm sure to the switch. The compatibility with the Epson Ink color gamut is nothing short of remarkable. So thanks for a real solution to a real problem,
Keep up the good work."
"The ConeColor color match is so close that I use the profiles that Epson provides for their inks with no problem. I intermixed the Epson and ConeColor inks until the Epson cartridges were used up and I couldn't see any difference as this change-over was taking place. The ConeColor looks like it produces a richer black. I didn't have any bronzing issues and the price is right. I was a little reluctant to switch but I am glad I did. All in all I think ConeColor inks are a great product."

"I use both the Photo Black and Matte Black ConeColor inksets in my department's Epson 4800 printers. It works very well indeed and has saved the art department over a thousand dollars just in the last semester. We are a rather small digital lab but it makes a huge difference in our budget"

"I've used ConeColor K3 inks for quite some time now in both of my Epson 9800's. I have used both Matte and Photo Black sets and found that the gamut was as close to OEM as I could imagine they could be. I have seen almost identical results using my own profiles or the OEM profiles. My clients have not found any fault in the ConeColor inks now that I am substituting them for Epson Ultrachrome. Even the amount of bronzing and gloss differential is virtually identical. Recently, I introduced ConeColor Vivid Magenta on both machines to upgrade the color space."

"ConeColor K3 ink is very very close to Epson UltraChrome K3. I print on papers from Epson, PremiereArt & Moab. It performs well on Lustre, Matte and Canvas of all kinds. The biggest and most satisfying part of using ConeColor is that I am not filling the landfills with countless cartridges that could have up to 20% of the ink left in them."

"I have found ConeColor inks to be the equal in performance and color of Epson inks. I really enjoy the savings and the ability to print a ton of work before re-filling. The best thing, however is the service every member of InkjetMall has given me. Their knowledge of products, software and printing techniques is a valuable resource for me."

"I'm using ConeColor inks in my Epson 2400 printer. My work is extremely vibrant with a lot of out-of-gamut colors and I've been very happy with the results. I can't tell the difference between ConeColor inks and the Epson UltraChrome inks... actually, ConeColor might be a little better, if anything. In addition to that, I'm saving a LOT of money by using your inks!
I recently had to turn my printer off for 3 months. I was dreading the thought of head clogs, but after 5 or 6 head cleanings.....perfect! I can't tell you how happy that made me."

""I think ConeColor inks are excellent. The color is good, the durability and color-fastness is good. The inks are essentially drop in replaceable for the Epson UltraChrome inks on the 9800."

"I'm using ConeColor ink to print on canvas. The guy doing my stretching loves the ink. He says it does not crack like many others. Thanks for providing an excellent source for after market ink"

"I've been a professional photographer for 25 years. I recently made test prints with Epson inks. Then I printed the same set of images using the same profiles with ConeColor inks. The difference was indistinguishable. No clogging, no profiling and no carts to dispose of. Just doing my bit for the environment."

"ConeColor K3 inks work perfectly with Epson profiles just as if I was using Epson inks. The inks really do match Epson's color... just as predictable, just as consistent, same image quality. Great product!"

ConeColor is not the largest ink company in America. In fact, we're constantly being described as a "boutique ink manufacturer" creating "highest standard niche products".. We've got to believe that saving the environment and saving our customers money is not a niche. We think the world is ready for our philosophy, our commitment to excellence, and the cost savings our products represent.
Installation
ConeColor ink is so compatible with Epson Ultrachrome ink, that you will not need to flush out the OEM inks before installing ConeColor. You can actually change one ink position at a time so that you do not need to waste any of your current ink supplies. What customers of ConeColor will experience is similar printing performance to that of Epson inks. We designed the ink to perform at the same level of the OEM inks in your print-heads by encapsulating our pigment. We developed our own technology that isolates the static charge of each and every one of our 100% pure pigment particles. As tiny as they are, our pigment cannot attract one another to agglomerate and clump together in your print-heads. ConeColor ink is filtered five times by reverse osmosis; four additional times than what is typical. ConeColor's encapsulation process results in gloss and bronzing levels similar to OEM.
The color space between ConeColor and Epson is the closest match of 3rd party inks. Because ConeColor color space is so similar to OEM, the typical user can get great results when they use OEM papers, settings and profiles. If the customer prefers to use third party paper products, we provide (free of charge) more than 40 ICC profiles for third-party papers at the ConeColor ICC library. You can choose to replace one ink position at a time, but for the absolute tightest color management we suggest you install the entire ConeColor ink set.
ConeColor, like Epson is designed for a minimal yet linear fade without the color shift associated with 3rd party ink.
These are just some of the factors that set ConeColor on a level of its own. There is no down side for a customer to switch from OEM to ConeColor.
Cost Savings The average large-format customer purchases 4 sets of OEM ink per year at a low street price of $2,848. The equivalent amount of ConeColor ink, including the reusable cart system costs only $1,094 or a savings of 62%. The second year's cost of ConeColor ink is only $796 or a savings of 73%. In two years time, the average customer will have saved $3,806 and will not have thrown away 64 empty plastic ink carts and the enormous amount of packaging and shipping materials that accompany such purchases. ConeColor bottles are recyclable and require only a rinse. The ConeColor packaging is minimal.
You can Choose to be Green
It is estimated that Americans throw away more than 450 million ink carts a year. Many still contain valuable ink. The OEM designs them so that they cannot be refilled. The consumer is left with the choice of throwing the cart away or having it incinerated by an OEM "recycling" program. We conceived ConeColor inks as an environmentally-friendly product. We supply a simple to use, transparent polyethylene cartridge that can be filled over and over again. For some model printers, the cartridge does not need to have its ink use recording chip reset. For some model printers, we supply a chip resetter. The customer needs only one set of refillable carts for the lifetime of their printer. Ink refills are available in minimal packaging ranging from 250ml to 1000ml, reducing wasteful packaging materials even further. The bottles are recyclable.
If your company or studio depends upon the convenience of pre-filled 220ml carts, we supply them in absolute minimal packaging which we know you will appreciate.
We are a company that practices what it preaches, and preaches what it practices.
ConeColor is designed by Jon Cone who has a long distinguished history in inkjet as both an innovator and one of its most highly regarded practitioners. Since 1984 he has continuously operated the world's first digital fine art printmaking studio, Cone Editions Press. Cone was IRIS Graphics Development and Marketing Partner for Fine Arts from 1994-1997 providing equipment, ConeTech software and fine arts inks, and training for 45 of the USA‘s first fine art Giclée studios. Cone established InkjetMall in 1999. Since 2000, his Piezography carbon black & white inkjet systems have been second to none and spurred b&w efforts by Canon, HP and Epson.
Cone has continuously been setting the standards in photographic and fine art printmaking producing Gordon Parks' "Half Past Autumn" color prints for the Corcoran and Richard Avedon's last portfolio "In Memory of the Late Mr. & Mrs. Comfort". Most recently, Cone developed the inks and printing methodology for Gregory Colbert's monumental "Ashes and Snow" Nomadic Museum exhibitions in Santa Monica, Tokyo and Mexico City which drew more than 8 million viewers - a record for an art exhibition.
ConeColor K3 inks are color compatible with Epson Ultrachrome K3 inks when used with Epson RGB workflow that includes the Epson printer driver, the Epson ICC profiles, and the recommended settings for the Epson ICC profiles. But we also make available a large ICC color profile library that you can download for free at www.conecolor.com. If you are using a third-party paper which we do not yet support, please contact us for low-cost, professional ICC profiling of your printer.
ConeColor K3 inks are compatible with all Epson printers that use the Ultrachrome K3 inks. These are the Epson 2400, 3800, 7800, 9800. ConeColor ink is compatible with matte papers when the Matte Black is used, and with glossy papers when the Photo Black is used.
You do not need to use flush carts in order to use ConeColor inks if you have been using Epson inks. You can allow ConeColor inks to slowly chase out the Epson inks. For desktop printers, ConeColor inks are compatible with refillable cartridges. Some CIS systems which use vinyl tubing may not be compatible with ConeColor inks.
Some users prefer to use ConeColor K3 in their K3 Vivid printers in order to better match an older printer to a newer printer model. Likewise, it is possible to use the ConeColor K3 Vivid inks in an older generation K3 printer. You would need to buy your carts and inks separately. Please contact us for this option.
