ConeColor inks are compatible with Epson inks. You do not need to flush your printer if it currently has Epson inks, or if it has Piezography inks in it. You can install ConeColor inks one position at a time and allow the ink to slowly chase out the Epson ink during printing.
However, it is known that Lyson brand inks are incompatible with other brands. If your printer currently has Lyson brand inks it - you should flush the system with PiezoFlush. Do not use Lyson brand flushing carts for the same reason as Lyson incompatibilty with other brands. Use PiezoFlush ink to flush your printer of Lyson brand inks.
ConeColor is compatible with Piezography inks. ConeColor inks are compatible with the widest range of media. But, for best results you should use the Photo Black to print on non-matte papers. Likewise, matte black is the preferred option for non-glossy media.
ConeColor inks were designed to be color compatible with Epson color workflow. You can expect to get similar color on Epson media if you have been printing according to the color management directions published by Epson and have been using Epson designed media profiles. The one exception to this is when we put ConeColor K3 inks into the Epson 1400 and 2200 printers which were designed for other color space inks. We provide K3 as an alternative color space to these two printers. We support this color upgrade by making an ICC profile library available for these printers. Also, we give a K3 Vivid option to the Epson 3800 printer. If you choose to run K3 Vivid in an Epson 3800 rather than K3, that will require custom ICC profiling.
We have third party media profiles for many of our supported printers. You can access our ICC profile library here.
ConeColor is not compatible with the CIS system we sell at InkjetMall. It may be compatible with other CIS systems. However, we recommend that you use our Refillable Cartridge System with ConeColor.
