This is shade 1 black which is used in the black position. The cartridge can be used in any position however. QTR expects this cart to be inserted in the black position. StudioPrint users can insert this in any slot, and it is considered to be printing ink assignment "black". The new MPS inks are designed to be used in conjunction with a gloss optimizer if used with glossy media. However, the inkset shades 1-6 work with current Piezography K6 QuadToneRIP curvesets! Users of 7000, 7500, 9000 & 9500 printers can not use the gloss optimizer because these printers do not support more than 6 inks. However, these inks work terrific on matte and fine art papers so use as you would K6 inks! Roland printer users can utilize gloss optimizer if they can control the printing of the gloss optimizer. We will provide documentation for this shortly.

One pre-filled cartridge.

This cartridge will fit Epson 3000, 7000, 7500, 9000, 9500 printers. It will fit Roland FJ and SJ models. It may fit Mutoh and Mimaki printers. It is a universal position cart that can be used in any position because it is missing tabs that are provided by the OEM to prevent the use in all cartridge slots. This cart is designed to fit all cartridge slots in the above supported printers. Piezography MPS shade 1 black is designed for use with the Piezography Selenium and Warm Neutral inks. This is the "photo black" version of ink for glossy printing on baryta and non-matte surfaces. It is intended to be used with a second printing of Piezography Gloss Overprint. It can be used as a matte black but will produce between 1/3 and one full stop less dMax.
