Fine-Art Photographer 7/15/2011 12:28 pm I love the Neutral K7 inks for their versatility and would recommend them to anyone starting out with Piezography. Printing on Photo Rag yields a truly neutral grayscale print and is the perfect starting point in getting your feet wet with Piezography. What I love about the neutral inks is the ability to fine tune the final print tonality and surface characteristics by using different papers. For my current exhibition prints I am using the Neutral K7 inks on Museum Etching, which produces a slightly warm toned image with a wonderfully soft textured surface. As with all Piezography K7 inks, the ink profiles provide a beautifully smooth tonal range with exceptional shadow detail and crisp highlights. Whether you are just getting started with monochromatic printing or are a seasoned veteran, you can't go wrong choosing Neutral K7.
Associate Professor of Art - UW Manitowoc 7/15/2011 8:19 am The Piezography Neutral inkset is the mainstay for my intro photo class. I have been using it in refillable carts in desktop 5 Epsons in K6 and K7 configurations since it was introduced. There have been no clogging issues, that were not solved by a simple head cleaning. students find the process easy to to master. The K6/K7 curves provided for QTR work well. Soft proofing with a 2.2 Gamma on a calibrated monitor will provide a reasonable representation of densities. The neutral inkset is very consistent on matte papers with a rich black.

Piezography Neutral K6 inks are six dilutions of pure carbon pigments which create Lab neutral to the human eye when viewed under 5000k and printed on Hanhemuhle PhotoRag or Innova Photo Cotton Smooth. These papers have a white on which this achromatic effect is achieved. Choose a warmer paper or a cooler paper, and the Neutral inks will warm or cool. A wide range of color tone is possible in this manner. The end result is a perfect marriage of ink and paper. A perfect monotone is produced. Inks are designed to fade less than 5% and shift less than deltaE 2, both below average human perception. These are the longest lasting inks available. There is a zero metamerism effect. The pigment particles are ground using a proprietary nano-technology. The fluid base in conjunction with the pigment produces a very non-clogging formula.

You get six bottles of ink. Piezography shade 1 black, Neutral shades 2, 3, 4, 5, & 6.

Piezography Neutral inks are compatible with all non-baryta and non-glossy papers. They are intended for use with Piezography K6 and K7 profiles when used with QuadTone RIP according to the Piezography QuickStart Manual for QTR which can be found in our technical support section.
