Byki 4

How do I increase or decrease the font size?

Byki

In Byki, you can make the font size larger to see characters more clearly or make the font smaller to see more text on the screen. These changes will affect the text in the lists on the View List screen and the text that you type in Know It, Own It, and Dictation. The chosen font size will be used for all lists.

To change the font size:

  1. Choose Options / Font.
  2. Choose one of the following options:
Increase Font - This option will increase the font size slightly. Larger text may be easier to see on the screen. At the maximum font size, this option will be grayed out. Shortcut: Press the Ctrl key and the + plus sign key at the same time.

Decrease Font - This option will decrease the font size slightly. Smaller fonts may allow you to see more text on the screen at one time. At the minimum font size, this option will be grayed out. Shortcut: Press the Ctrl key and the - minus sign key at the same time.

Return to Default Size - This option will return the font to the size it was when Byki was first installed.

Learn Language Now! / Languages of the World

You have the option to change the font sizes in the foreign language text and reference windows in LanguageNow!. You may make the font larger if it helps you see the characters more clearly, or you may make the font smaller if you want more text to fit on the screen.

To change the font size:

  1. Choose View / Text Size.
  2. Choose one of the options in the flyout menu that appears:
Smaller Size - Each time you choose this option, it will decrease the point size slightly. Making the font smaller allows you to see more text on the screen at one time. When you have reached the minimum point size, this option will be grayed out.

Default Size - Each time you choose this option, it will return all the text to its normal size, as it was when LanguageNow! was first installed.

Larger Size - Each time you choose this option, it will increase the font size slightly. Making the font larger may make the text easier for you to see on the screen. When you have reached the maximum point size, this option will be grayed out.

If none of this information helps you and you are still having trouble seeing the text, we recommend you change your desktop's display settings to a lower resolution such as 1024x768 or 800x600.
