It is asking me "What do you want to do with this file...".
When you double click to run the installer file and you see a screen asking you to open the file in another program, don't select another program to run it in. Your security settings are preventing you from running these kinds of files. Nonetheless, we guarantee you have a safe download to use.
Perform the steps to the following workaround:
- Click on the name of the file once.
You will notice that a cursor appears at the end of the file name, and the text is highlighted in blue.
- Tap the right-arrow key on your keyboard once.
This will remove the highlight from the text and you will see the cursor at the end of the filename more clearly.
- Type in ".exe", no quotes.
- Hit Enter. You should see the icon change.
- Double click to execute the program and begin installation.
If renaming doesn't change the icon:
Go to Start Go to My Computer In the Menu above, go to Tools / Folder Options Click the View tab Uncheck the checkbox "Hide extensions for known file types". Windows, by default, will have this checked. Click Apply then Click OK. Go back to your download and repeat the numbered steps above. You should see the icon change. Double-click the file to install the program.
