COLOR: Cambara heartwood has a consistent pinkish to gold-brown coloring. The luster ranges from medium to high. Cambara produces classic, even-toned decking that will set off the look of any style deck or patio.

HARDNESS: Janka hardness of 870 as compared to the hardness of 1290 for Red Oak.

GRAIN: the texture is moderately coarse and its consistently straight grain is slightly to highly interlocked and knot free.

VARIATIONS WITHIN SPECIES AND GRADES: Moderate color varitation.

SAWING/MACHINING: Cambara is easily worked by either hand or machine, and polishes to a good finish. However, the wood may blunt cutting edges because of it's hardness, which ranges from 530 to 680 lbs at 12% moisture content.

SANDING: Sands well.

NAILING: Has a good holding ability. Slightly tougher than other woods.

FINISHING: No known problems. Messmers UV Plus is recommended.
