Rafal Listopad/Amy Feistel in the Volkswagen Golf Rally Car and their crew took the flag for the ceremonial start of International Rally New York on September 6th, 2007, in the village square of Ellenville, New York. This was another round of the 2007 United States Rally Championship. Each day's run was also a qualifying round of the regional New York Rally Championship. The rally included one day of very fast paved special stages and one day of dusty dirt/gravel roads. Total distance was approximately 400 miles, with about 100 miles of special stages. Half way through the two day event, the two-wheel-drive category in the USRC was led by Rafal Listopad/Amy Feistel (Volkswagen Golf), by over a minute and a half. Upon finish Rafal Listopad/Amy Feisel (Volkswagen Golf) had taken the win of the two-wheel-drive group in the International Rally New York, after two days of competition in the Catskill Mountains. Their only concern during the event was a failure of the car's front motor mount, but a strap was substituted by their service crew so that the car could finish. "I'm very happy, that was a long and a difficult event" said Rafal Listopad after the rally. "On the first day we had a very close battle with the team of Mark Lawrence/Robert Maciejski, second day was all about bringing the gold home and finishing the event. I want to thank my crew and people who supported and help me; it's a success of all of us."
